The National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA) is the only national organization whose mission is focused solely on serving as the voice for the growing Adult Day Services (ADS) industry. Through advocacy, collaborative programs, education, and diverse organizational partnerships, NADSA acts as a catalyst for ADS advancement.
ADS 101: As outlined in our Adult Day Services fact sheet, ADS is a professional network of integrated services that provide essential supports for adults and families facing the challenges of aging, disability, or chronic illness.
Medicaid ensures that millions of Americans have access to these vital services through coverage of Adult Day Services under its long-term services and supports (LTSS) benefit.
NADSA’s work: To address an increase in demand and improve the efficiency of ADS, NADSA is investing in research and data collection across service utilization to generate more comprehensive evidence on the value of ADS and develop a set of uniform outcome measures. With enhanced data collection allowing for better insight into potential areas of ADS programming improvement and leverage of funding, NADSA is making strides to identify gaps in ADS programming and re-center its priorities accordingly.
Additional initiatives that demonstrate NADSA’s commitment to strengthening ADS quality and access include:
- Congregating ADS providers from across the country for professional development opportunities at its annual, in-person national conference;
- Hosting boot camps to help ADS directors enhance their center’s tools and activities;
- Leading educational webinars which cover a wide range of operational, marketing, advocacy, and fundraising/development activities to grow ADS centers; and
- Supporting local vaccination promotion efforts for older adults.
The bottom line: NADSA is a professional membership association that has succeeded in establishing an influential presence for adult day services at national policy and legislative tables. NADSA functions as a pioneering advocate for ADS improvement by bringing awareness to its value through partnerships, programming, and educational outreach.
