Washington, D.C. – Following the release of newly proposed cuts to Medicaid coverage and benefits for Americans, the Modern Medicaid Alliance issued the following statement:
“There is no denying that the policies released today, and if passed into law, will lead to millions of Americans losing their Medicaid coverage and threaten access to needed care. These unprecedented cuts to a vital safety net program will leave states on the hook for billions of dollars in additional costs while destabilizing local health care systems.
“Cuts to Medicaid undermine the promise that policymakers have repeatedly made to voters about protecting the program and will exacerbate the cost challenges that Americans have looked to Washington to solve.
“We call on Congressional leaders to oppose any cuts to Medicaid moving forward.”
