Washington, D.C. – The Modern Medicaid Alliance, a coalition of national and local organizations that represent patients, health care workers, children, older adults, people with disabilities, pregnant and postpartum women, and health insurance providers, today announced its new Medicaid Spotlight initiative to raise awareness about the impact of Medicaid in the lives of a growing number of Americans.
As the COVID-19 crisis continues to have wide-ranging impacts across our country’s social safety net, the Modern Medicaid Alliance seeks to educate policymakers and the public about the real value Medicaid delivers to millions of Americans every day, the innovations that are improving care and coverage across the country, and the need for Medicaid to remain a strong program that can serve the needs of a diverse population of Americans.
The Modern Medicaid Alliance’s coordinated Medicaid Spotlight initiative will include:
- A landing page on the Modern Medicaid Alliance website to showcase the impactful initiatives of Alliance partners that have addressed key challenges and improved the lives of Medicaid enrollees throughout the pandemic and beyond.
- Feature content highlighting the work of Alliance partners – like innovative programs, public education and awareness efforts, direct delivery of care and services, and much more – to meet the challenges facing our nation today, especially for the most vulnerable communities.
- Media activities featuring perspectives from Medicaid enrollees, Alliance partners, and others on how Medicaid is working for tens of millions of Americans.
- A social media campaign via the Modern Medicaid Alliance’s Twitter account and Facebook page that highlights Medicaid facts, personal stories, case studies, and experts.
The Medicaid Spotlight landing page will house exciting new content featuring the work of Alliance partners, including impactful initiatives from the Patient Advocate Foundation and Nurse-Family Partnership.
The new initiative complements the Modern Medicaid Alliance’s existing work educating policymakers and the public about the benefits of Medicaid, including the Medicaid Dashboard, an essential resource for federal and state leaders, which houses up-to-date state and national Medicaid enrollment and polling data.
